Algorithmic Design of a series of hexagonal panels made of gypsum focused on room acoustic performances.
Things become less ephemeral when supported by Matter, what we can feel with all of our senses. Matter of Growth is a conception of data into the physical world.
Functions and numbers are hidden in everything we see. Our eyes alone are not capable to perceive the underlaying
patterns of nature.
It is Science purpose to decoded our surroundings; mathematics being the language we use to write our observations
of the world around us.
This is not a recreation of a known shape in nature.
This is not an interpretation of a living form.
This is an attempt to reveal that which we cannot see, to unearth what is behind a Matter.
This is, also, meant to show how beautiful the language of math could be.
# It is all made by patterns, and we are getting closer to revealing them.
This is an interpretation of how Matter is made.
Algorithmic Design of a series of hexagonal panels made of gypsum for with a focus on room acoustic performances.
A Matter of Growth is a physical representation of Data and Generative Design. A series of modules are created by modelling surfaces through algorithms, enabling a chain of points and combinations that reveals the pattern for a cell to grow and expand.
Consider the data designed as a DNA. The set of algorithms inhered to it model and sculpt the final Matter through a chained reproduction of data points.
Algorithms-aided design tools make it possible to take this DNA and, by changing its values, be able to conceive n numbers of combinations for a new shape to grow.
Each module created from this DNA will be able to adapt to each other and together evolve into a new form in Nature.
